About This Program

  • Coursework  for your Data Science minor will blend computer science, statistics, and data science with ethics and social justice themes. 
  • Excel in careers requiring knowledge of sentiment analysis of text, image recognition, word prediction, and topic modeling–techniques used in the apps that most people have. 
  • Your electives may include an exploration of GIS, Bioinformatics, and Machine Learning.

Elective Courses:

Two (2) suitable elective classes must be chosen with the student’s Data Science adviser. Options include upper level statistics, GIS, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, and relevant classes in computing.
